Ex AOC – Atmosphère Océan et Couplages

Ex AOC – Atmosphère Océan et Couplages

L’équipe « Atmosphère, Océan et Couplages » (AOC) étudie les phénomènes atmosphériques et océaniques de moyenne échelle et leur couplage afin d’en améliorer leur compréhension. Ses travaux sont en grande partie insérés dans des projets coopératifs internationaux autour de campagnes de mesure et s’appuient principalement sur des outils communs de modélisation et d’observation dont l’équipe a la maîtrise. Les codes numériques Méso-NH et SYMPHONIE – un des quatre modules de SIROCCO – développés tout ou partie au sein de AOC ont statut de code communautaire, ce qui conduit l’équipe à s’investir dans les tâches de gestion du code et d’assistance auprès de communautés internationales d’utilisateurs. Le réseau SAETTA est un détecteur tridimensionnel d’éclairs récemment déployé en Corse qui permet d’avancer dans la compréhension et la modélisation de l’électrisation des nuages.

L’objectif principal de l’équipe AOC est l’étude des phénomènes atmosphériques et océaniques de moyenne échelle et leur couplage

  • Les événements intenses atmosphériques et océaniques
