The dynamic, thermodynamic, and microphysical processes that govern the meteorological atmosphere, from small scales (cloud convection or boundary layer) to synoptic disturbances, at mid-latitudes and in the tropics.
The physico-chemistry of the troposphere and lower stratosphere, including natural and anthropogenic production, transport, interfacial fluxes, evolution, and impact of gaseous and particulate chemical species, with more specific developments focusing on ozone, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, and carbonaceous aerosols.
Coastal oceanography in its dynamic aspects related to general circulation, forcing, and internal disturbances.
The scientific activities of the teams are based on two complementary aspects: numerical modeling and observation, for which the teams at the Laboratoire d’Aérologie have nationally and internationally recognized expertise.
